DARAS: Journal of Education and Learning
DARAS: Journal of Education and Learning provides a vital forum for exchanging ideas in order to enrich the theories and practices of Education in general and English, Indonesian, and other language education in Indonesia and across the globe. The journal focuses, but not limited to, on the following topics: Education in general, English or Indonesian language teaching, language teaching and learning, language teaching methodologies, pedagogical techniques, teaching and curricular practices, curriculum development and teaching methods, program, syllabus, and materials design, second and foreign language teaching and learning, language education, teacher education and professional development, teacher training, cross-cultural studies, bilingual and multilingual education, translation, language teaching for specific purposes, new technologies in language teaching, and testing and evaluation. It provides an academic platform for teachers, lecturers, and researchers to contribute innovative work in the field.

Focus and Scope
DARAS: Journal of Education and Learning focuses, but not limited to, on the following topics: Education in general and English, Indonesian, and other language education in Indonesia and across the globe. The journal focuses, but not limited to, on the following topics: Education in general, English or Indonesian language teaching, language teaching and learning, language teaching methodologies, pedagogical techniques, teaching and curricular practices, curriculum development and teaching methods, program, syllabus, and materials design, second and foreign language teaching and learning, language education, teacher education and professional development, teacher training, cross-cultural studies, bilingual and multilingual education, translation, language teaching for specific purposes, new technologies in language teaching, and testing and evaluation. It provides an academic platform for teachers, lecturers, and researchers to contribute innovative work in the field.
DARAS: Journal of Education and Learning will not accept research articles or manuscripts that have been submitted or published elsewhere. It does not publish book reviews, program evaluations, or articles that merely describe programs, courses, or personal experiences without a rigorous research framework. To facilitate a broader academic exchange, the journal accepts manuscripts written in both English and Indonesian. However, all submissions must include a title, abstract, and keywords in English to ensure international accessibility and indexing.
Peer Review Process
Research articles or Manuscripts submitted to DARAS: Journal of Education and Learning are initially reviewed by the editors for general fit with the journal's focus and scope and for the writing quality. Only those research articles meeting the focus and scope will be sent to reviewers for a double-blind review.Total Estimated Review Time: Approximately 8–16 weeks from submission to final decision (depending on the extent of revisions required). Two reviewers will be assigned to evaluate the research articles or manuscripts on the basis of their expertise. Reviewers are expected to return their reviews within 4 weeks. A third reviewer will be appointed in case one of the reviewers disagrees upon the quality of the research article for publication. The assigned reviewers evaluate the research articles by using a standard manuscript evaluation form. They are required to treat all the information in the research articles as confidential. Views of the assigned reviewers serve as a guide to DARAS: Journal of Education and Learning editors to make a final decision. Final decision always belongs to the editors. Those manuscripts that are judged by the editors and assigned editors to be inappropriate are rejected promptly without external reviews.
The editors then make a decision based on the reviewers' advice, from among several possibilities:
- Accept as written without any revisions
- Accept with minor revisions (a second round of review is not necessary)
- Accept with major revisions (a second round of review will be necessary)
- Reject (the paper is not suitable for publication)
Publication Frequency
DARAS: Journal of Education and Learning is published 2 times per year (May and November) in English by Indonesian Digital Research & Publication (PT. Sahayu Eduresearch Consulting). All research articles appearing in the journal have undergone a thoroughly blind peer-review.
Archiving
DARAS: Journal of Education and Learning utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. https://www.lockss.org/
Open Access Policies
Publishing in DARAS: Journal of Education and Learning is free of charges. The journal does not have any article processing charges (APC) or submission charges. However, we have found that more and more papers have ignored the standard of writing including the references, citations, writing mechanism, and formatting that make editors spend more time to deal with those issues which influence the quality of our journal. Since our journal is not funded, we will charge authors for editing their papers including the references, citations, writing mechanism, and formatting.
DARAS: Journal of Education and Learning provides direct open access to its content. Our publisher, Indonesian Digital Research & Publication by PT. Sahayu Eduresearch Consulting, agrees to the Budapest Open Access Initiative definition of Open Access. It is our mission to support a greater global exchange of knowledge by making the research published in this journal open to the public and reusable under the terms of a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
